Bird Nest, Grape Vine, and Branch Jewelry
My Vine and Branch Jewelry Collection came about as many of my designs do, as a simple idea to fix a little mistake.
Bird Nest and Branch JewelryI was working on a quicker way to create my favorite Birds Nest Pendant, when I realized my nest was way too small. My cute little silver nest with three lonely mini pearl eggs sat on my desk for several months before I was in a "finish what you started" mood.
I decided to create a copper branch for my mini nest to balance out the size. But after creating my branch, and taking the time to darken the copper to give it a more natural look, I realized my little eggs were in need of a mother . . . so mother sparrow was added to the design.My first branch and bird necklace was created! Cherry Blossom Branch Jewelry
My Cherry Blossom Branch Jewelry is created with either sterling silver filled or copper wire, pink coral, pink freshwater pearls, and peridot chips. Pussy Willow Branch Jewelry
My Pussy Willow Branch Jewelry is created with sterling silver filled or copper wire and white freshwater pearls that represent the little "catkins" or buds on the willow tree. As a child I can remember rubbing the soft little buds on my cheek and nose. Pussy Willow, symbolism associated with motherhood. Pussy willows are one of the earliest signs of spring and represent rebirth.
The willow took pity and plunged its long branches down into the river to rescue the kittens. They hang on to her branches, not wanting to let go. Since then soft little buds or blossoms form each spring where the kittens held on.
