All About the Eco-Friendly Materials
used in our "Go Green" Jewelry Collection

We use a variety of eco-friendly materials
in the making of our "green" jewelry.

The recycled glass beads that are used in our designs are uniquely handmade from roughly fractured empty glass bottle pieces and glass factory shards. Indonesian recycled glass beads have a matte finish and are hand-drilled. These eco-friendly materials are beautifully faceted or cut into blunt-corner cubes in translucent ethereal "sea" colors.

The wood used to create the beads you find in Earthly Expressions Jewelry comes from high quality recycled wood. Artisans transform wood scraps from furniture makers and wood carvers into beautiful beads. This helps to minimize waste and decrease our environmental impact.

We believe in socially responsible harvesting of Shells, coming from the Philippines. These shells are naturally gathered using the primitive way of diving under water and harvesting them. Most shells are harvested primarily for food. The outside shell is then cleaned, cut and formed into shell beads and shell pendants.

We use sustainable seeds and nuts in our eco-friendly jewelry. These seeds and nuts are abundantly growing in the exotic Philippine islands. No plants and trees are cut just for the purpose of collecting the seeds and nuts. The seeds and nuts are merely harvested when they
have fully matured.

Coral is a rare and threatened ecosystem. While most coral used in jewelry making today is from already harvested coral, it is important to aid in the protection of new rare marine corals from being harvested. Eco-Friendly Natural Coral Limestone beads are being adapted in jewelry industry as a perfect substitute to duplicate the luxurious "look" achieved by real "corals" in jewelry. These beautiful natural eco-friendly materials are made of rock formation from the ocean, porous and naturally white in color.
